A courtyard carved for gathering—and grounded in plant-led placemaking.

Collaboration with Laraarchitecture on a LEED Platinum restaurant campus—courtyard, dining terraces, and planting woven into the indoor–outdoor bar and lounge experience.

This landscape was imagined as one inhabited outdoor room—not a ring of paving around a building. Working with Laraarchitecture, we shaped spaces where dining, lingering, and movement feel continuous with the bar and interior: thresholds blur, light shifts, and planting reads as structure, not decoration.

Trees and ground plane set the tone—shade where people gather, openness where circulation needs to breathe, and surfaces underfoot that stay relaxed through nightly service. Built edges and planters hold quiet rhythm: restraint at the perimeter so furniture, firelight, and conversation stay centered.

The result is hospitality outdoors with interior discipline: tactile materials, clear circulation, and planting chosen for presence at distance and nuance up close—California ease, polished enough for a nightly crowd.
